Mami Nakamura
~Profile~
Mami Nakamura is a mixed-media artist based in Fukuoka. Inspired by the serene beauty of the ocean and nature in her hometown, she creates works that resonate deeply with the viewer, using natural materials, acrylic paints, and resin.
She captures the light of the sea, the ripples on the water’s surface, and the emotions and stories of renewal that dwell within them through her translucent resin expressions, placing great importance on delivering a sense of calm resonance to the viewer’s heart.
Since 2023, she has exhibited her work both domestically and internationally, winning the Excellence Award and Encouragement Award at the “ZEN Exhibition” and the Jury Prize at the “Nami-Kore Grand Prix 2023.” In addition to exhibitions at venues such as the Tokyo Metropolitan Art Museum, the Hyogo Prefectural Museum of Art, and the Fukuoka City Museum of Art, she has also participated in international art fairs, including Art Shopping Paris (Carrousel du Louvre) in France and the FWAG Vienna International Exhibition in Austria.
Furthermore, beyond gallery exhibitions, she creates installations for spaces such as hotels, restaurants, lodging facilities, and cafes, continuing her efforts to bring healing and color to everyday life through art.
Mami Nakamura's Commitment
Through the tranquility of the sea and the play of light, I seek to express the sensations hidden deep within our emotions and memories. By utilizing the unique transparency and fluidity of resin, I aim to create works that help viewers find inner peace.
